Request a quote for attaching metal foils with polyimide fil Inquiry (采购产品): Request a quote for attaching metal foils with polyimide film Dear Manager, We have an application to attach two metal foils, tungsten and kovar which is an iron-nickel-cobalt alloy. We would like to use RP50, a high temperature polyimide polymer for good bonding performance at high temperature. Sizes of both metal foils are about 400 mils x 400 mils x 10-40 mils. The cure cycle for the RP50 contains the following steps: * Use degreaser to clean both metal foils (tungsten and kovar), 5 min vapor, 5 min liquid * Apply solution to surfaces (400 mil x 400 mil) which are to be adhered. The coating should be no more than 3 mils wet and 1 mil cured. The preferred cured thickness is 0.5 mil. * Place parts (solution side up) in preheated oven at 100 deg C for 20 minutes * Put two parts together and apply a pressure. The pressure should be slightly larger than typical metal clamps but less than 100 psi. This pressure should be kept during all the later cure cycle. * Ramp oven from 100 degrees C at 2 degrees C per minute to 325 degrees C and hold at 325 degrees C for one hour. * Cool at approximate 2 degrees C per minute. (i.e. 2-2.5 hours to cool from 325C to room temperature) The cure can be done in either oven or big hot plate. It is very important to regulate the heating rates and temperature of the cure cycle. Programming for temperature control is required. To prevent metal oxidation, the cure should be done either in vaccum or in nitrogen gas. To handle RP50 film, Class J PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) is required, i.e. splash goggles, gloves, apron, dust and vapor respirator. However, The RP50 does not emit toxic gas during cure. The only byproducts are Water and NMP which are not toxic. Would you please give me two quotes: 1) Cure of 5 parts: each contains a kovar foil and a tungsten foil. This quote is for our test, or R&D. 2) Cure of 1000 parts. This quote is for our first production. Many more will come later. We have all materials in hand. We can send more informations as requested. We would like to have a delivery time as soon as possible. Please let me know if you have any question. Thank you very much for assistances!
