Rohs for sheet metal Inquiry (采购产品): Rohs for sheet metal Dear Sir, My name is Young Lee, Mechanical Engineer in Alcatel. I think you might help me for our documentation's ?. We shipped our products (Data comm equipment- box)to Europe market. EU issued the DIRECTIVE 2002/95/EC, And we have to keep for our products to be compliant with RoHS even all detail parts (materials with chemical compositions, finishing like coating or chemical film, paints or plating etc ...) by July of 2006. We used to use raw steel sheet metal material for chassis and specified the following information on the detail drawing.: 1) Pre-finished steel sheet per ASTM-A653, G30 / or G40 ( Hot dip galvanized)or 2) Hot dip galvanized per ASTM-A653, G30 (Post fabrication plate over base cold rolled steel per QQ-S-698)or 3) Zinc plate per ASTM-B633-98, type III, Fe/Zn 12 (Post fabrication plate over base cold rolled steel per QQ-S-698). And Aluminum, 5052-H32 AL ALY sheet per QQ-A-250/A with chem film per MIL-C-5541, Class 3 Clear. 4) Paint, wet or Powder coat specified on our spec 410001-00. I think we have to change our drawing notes for material and plating/ finish from current method like (Zinc plate per ASTM-B633-98, type III, Fe/Zn 12 or chem film per MIL-C-5541, Class 3 Clear) to be compliant with RoHS. Would you please give me the information's (like ASTM standared number or spec) related with RoHS to to be specified on the drawing If you have?
