After 23 years as a spray painter at Lockheed Martin, 2 years at JA Rheinhardt and Sons and 5 years currently at Alumitek Inc. My area of expertise involves the skillful application of all paint finishes; time and cost efficient problem solving in finishes; production methods of a wide variety of surfaces, sizes and shapes of parts; extensive knowledge of equipment; the ability to troubleshoot technical problems by developing the tools needed to save money and time; and was paint shop leader for 5 years prior to the elimination of the position. My technical expertise in these areas is discussed in greater detail in the attached resume. My work experience includes numerous military contracts, such as the Rat-31, Aegis fire control, Mk-92, Trident fire control plus numerous commercial contracts, such as the Nexrad Weather Radar; interfacing with all departments concerned with each contract, including customer representatives; and was a member of the team which prepared the plant for the initiation and successful utilization of the standard practice ISO-9001. I have ESD certification in the proper handling of static sensitive parts; in the ISO-9001 standard of practice, which includes making the paint shop ISO-9001 and ISO-14001 approved and how to maintain that approval; as well as, other certifications. Experience with commercial contracts such as Nexrad Weather Radar, Collision Avoidance System and Cisco Systems. ? Performed and controlled all aspects of the finishing department including deburring, sanding, sand blasting, glass beading, degreasing, masking, priming, top coating, baking, stenciling, silk screening with minimal supervision. ? Directly interfaced with all paint shop personnel, engineering, management, and customer representatives. ? Utilized numerous Mil-Spec paints including wash primers, zinc chromate primers, epoxy primers, enamels, air dry and bake, silicone enamels, polyurethanes, lacquers, epoxies, SermeTel coatings, smooth coats, wrinkles and textures. Also some knowledge of powder coating. EDUCATIONAL TRAINING ? ESD trained and certified in proper handling of circuit boards, components and other ESD sensitive parts. ? Blueprint/ Mil-Spec trained – knowledge of all items pertaining to masking dimensions and tolerances, Mil- Spec for finishing, Fed- Std color codes, material codes and ability to locate machining and sheet metal errors prior to painting which helps eliminate reworks. ? Haz- Mat trained – excellent understanding of chemicals, paint finishes and solvents, how to handle them, and store them properly. ? Respirator certified and trained- shown proper use of respirator and fit including annual respirator physical. ? ISO 9001 certified – trained how to make my shop ISO 9001 approved, also, how to maintain that approval. Trained in the maintaining and use of the standard practice files needed for ISO 9001 approval. Also ISO 9002 and ISO 14001. ? Round table meeting – the finishing shop personnel meet to discuss current work load and any finishing problems that are occurring during that time, so we may work as a team to find solutions and implement them in a timely manner. ?
