Inquiry (采购产品): Train Couplers My son, Joshua, is six years old and very interested in how trains couple, especially how the coupling pieces stay together. He wants to do a science fair experiment (due February 12, 2005) about this topic and is looking for information. Do you have (or know where we can find) information about what makes train couplers stay together to pull the train cars? I think he's fascinated with this because they look like they float and should just come apart. We're interested in the forces behind the need for couplers as well as whatever is used to make the couplers properly do their job. Besides the challenge of finding the information, we need it in a form that a child can understand (non-engineering speak). While Joshua is a bright kid and can read at about 4th grade level, he lacks the maturity to wade through dry, technical material to find what he needs. We would appreciate any help you can give us with this. Thank you.
