Fuel will be LPG. 2. The diameter for cylinders will be 233 to 356 mm 3. The length of cylinders will be 600 to 1500 mm. 4. Capacity maximum 65 cylinder per hour. Hardening furnace Purpose : For heating the cylinders to hardening temperature of max. 950O C for the hardening and tempering process. (material : 30 Cr Mo 4/34 Cr Mo 4) For normalizing the cylinders at a temperature between 870O C and 900O C. (material : 36 Mn 4 / ST E 355) The furnace should have the following features : 1. Adjustable material flow rate. 2. Two temperature regulating zones with registering the furnace temperatures. 3. Slight overpressure against infringement of cold air. 4. Manually actuated door pushing device at inlet side. 5. Optical barrier controlled, door pushing device at the outlet side for automatic 6. Easy access for inspections Quench basin with immersion unit The immersion unit has to be designed such that the immersed cylinders can be lowered (swung) in the oil bath during quenching in order to prevent blistering and, thus, defects in hardness. The immersion time shall be adjustable between 0.5 and 9 minutes. After the quenching process there must be the possibility to drain off the oil before the work pieces are transported to the tempering furnace. The immersion unit for quenching can be designed according to the choice of the furnace manufacturer for a vertical or a horizontal cylinder arrangement. Immersion unit shall have suitable cooling arrangement. The immersion unit and transfer unit to the tempering furnace have to be designed such that during the process "normalizing" the cylinder transport for cylinders made of material 36 Mn 4 and ST E 355 can be effected directly from the hardening furnace, to the tempering furnace, (bypassing immersion process.) Tempering furnace The furnace has to be designed for a controllable tempering temperature up to max. 700O C and should be equipped with manually actuated door pushing devices at both sides.
