potential supply of algae based vegetable oil Inquiry (采购产品): potential supply of algae based vegetable oil Gentlemen, my name is David Griffith and I represent a small company, Sunrise Ridge Algae Inc., which is developing a method for producing vegetable oil from algae. We have a functioning pilot plant and are planning to expand to a 30 acre semi commercial facility next year. We believe our product could be used in the manufacture of specialty soaps, displacing other sources which are growing increasingly costly. I understand that many of the oils used in soap manufacture are human food based (palm oil, soybean oil), are used as food or food additives for animal food (recycled animal fats) or compete for arable land and resources. Algae based triglycerides, however, are not suitable for human consumption, do not compete with food crops for arable land or resources and, in our process, consume waste water and industrially produced CO2. After completion of our next phase, Sunrise Ridge will be able to supply sufficient quantities of oil for test, development and small manufacture.
