Resume for you to keep on hand should an opportunity arise Inquiry (采购产品): Resume for you to keep on hand should an opportunity arise Jeremy Dougherty 7231 Marsden St. 1st floor Philadelphia, PA 19135 Education History Central Bucks West H.S. Graduate Employment History Paramount Packaging Printing 202 Oak Ave. Chalfont, PA 18914 (215)-822-2911 Supervisor: Joanne Kozdra Employed from: 9/1989-6-2001 Primary Duties: Quality Control/ some R&D. I performed inspection of in-process printed material as well as incoming raw material. I used a Gas Chromatograph (GC machine), tensile tester, checked printed material to .032 of an inch for accuracy, I also used a Gramatic scale to measure the weight of the adhesive between layers of material, performed C.O.F. testing, as well as OVTR testing and WVTR testing. (part of R&D) I broke down competitors material and ran it through an IR Spectro Photometer to determine what the composition of their packaging was. I was sent to Hershey and H.B Reese on a regular basis to troubleshoot our material because the other shifts let less than acceptable mater pas through. I had to check the C.O.F. on each printed slit roll to determine which ones would need a powder coating while they were running through the machinery. (C.O.F. stands for co-efficient of friction). I assisted on the presses when they were short handed on man power. I probably would have been fired for crossing the Management/Union boundaries, however those people were like family to me and I helped anyway I could provided I had free time. Reason for leaving: The company was bought out and shut down. Everyone lost their jobs. I thought I was going to retire from there. It was a nice place to work. Novolog Bucks County (now Kinder-Morgen) 1 Sinter Rd. Levittown, PA Telephone # unknown Supervisor: Dan Imes Employed from: 2/2001-2/2002 Primary Duties: Dock worker. I worked on the docks and in the cargo hull as a Stevedore unloading steel slabs and coils from inbound ships. It was hard work and the weather on the river was brutal, but when you wear the right gear anything is tolerable. Reason for leaving: Novolog hires people as casual employees- no benefits. When the work was there, there the overtime was abundant, but when it wasn’t you could go 2 weeks with out a paycheck. I needed more stability and benefits. Not knowing if there’ll be a ship in next week is not a pleasant feeling. CTX Logistics 16 Cabot Blvd. Levittown, PA 19054 (267)-580-0680 Supervisor: Jeff Jefferies (went to Nabisco) Primary Duties: Loading and unloading tractors trailer and railroad cars, and picking orders for the next day’s deliveries Reason for Leaving: Personal Injury. I lived only 2 miles from work so I either rode my bicycle to work, motorcycle, & rarely used my car to save on gas. On my way in one morning at 5:45am I was riding my motorcycle down US-1 and someone pulled out of a diner. He broad-sided me. I suffered a broken hip, 4 broken ribs, broken ankle, my right hand was “de-gloved” (all the flesh stripped off to the bone, and a fractured skull. The Police said I flew approximately 35 feet from the impact site. Fortunately I made a 99.5% recovery. I still get sore in damp weather and when it’s below 15 degrees. That’s not enough to stop me from working full time at any position I choose. Metal Stock 4901 Cottman Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19135 (215)-335-2007 Supervisor: Gary Betchner Primary Duties: Aluminum Plate Saw operator, CNC Plasma Cutting and CNC Oxy-Fuel Burning, Shearing, Horizontal Bar Saw operator, loading and unloading outbound and inbound trucks, pulling stock for the next day’s orders, taking care of will call orders, UPS online each day at the end of the day. Putting stock and raw material away, inventory when necessary. I was the only person cross-trained for every function of the operation. Reason for leaving: My primary function was Burning & Plasma cutting. I was approached by one of our customers who recently purchased a new Water-Jet Machine. He needed an operator, and since our CNC’s were similar to a degree he thought I’d be a good candidate. He spoke with the owner of the company and told him that he’d like to hire me and that I was very interested in learning a new technique of cutting. He didn’t want any hard feelings between the two companies is how he put it. The owner gave me the green light to go and learn more, so I took what I thought would be a good opportunity. I started 3 days later. William J. Labb & Sons Inc. 4617 Milnor St. Philadelphia, PA 19137 (215)-289-4515 Supervisor: William Wallace Primary duties: Water-Jet operator/maintenance/repairs. Unfortunately Water-Jet’s frequently break down. High pressure, water and sand make for a deadly foe for precision machinery. When the Water-Jet was down I ran Okuma, Techmo, Hardinge, Haas ,Secco CNC lathes as well as Bridgeport preses. My other duties were keeping an eye, and or running their Horizontal Bar Saw since I had the experience (they bought the saw from Metal Stock). My relationship with the company owner, William Wallace turned sour when I the high pressure nozzel on the Water-Jet exploded in my face. When this happened I turned my head and ran- dropping a 50lb stainless steel brick on my ankle causing a fracture. This put me out for 2 months and he was furious that he’d have to pay workmen’s compensation for the injury. I returned to work light duty before the Doctor cleared me to try to ease the tension doing office work- data entry. I would set up the Water-Jet on a long time running job and just have someone watch over it and go back to the office or go to a lathe that also took a long time to cut so I could sit down and just monitor it. Reason for Leaving: Termination. When I returned to full duty and was back on the Water-Jet, I was cutting parts for the Air Force F-35 Joint Strike fighter jets that C.A. Spalding was manufacturing critical parts for. Our machine was not working properly and the parts were way out of specification. They would fail in flight and when I brought this to William Wallace’s attention he told me to manufacture them anyway, “nobody will check them.” This cause a big argument between us and he fired me for refusing to do my job. I highly doubt I’ll get a good reference from this company considering the circumstances, however I did what was right. Anderson Metals Po Box 493 Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006 (215(-938)-1900 Supervisor: Gene Redmond Primary Duties: Precision Aluminum Plate Saw Operator (+/-.001). It’s an Oliver make and very difficult to learn. I was told I was hired to replace my supervisor when he retires and to cover for him during the summer. Gene (supervisor) gets 5 weeks vacation, 2 weeks sick leave, and 5 personal days per year. He takes all of them during the summer months when the shop is hot. The Aluminum Plate saw is this the only thing that keeps the Huntingdon Valley branch of the corporation from being shut down. The saw creates a tremendous amount of revenue for them. I was ordered to train one of the Bar Saw operator and the Shipping/Receiving person to run the saw in the event that my supervisor retires & I get sick. This way the saw can keep running. It made sense to me- so I went along with it. That was a mistake on my part. The people I trained make $5-7 less/hr than they were paying me. They know how to run it, no I guess it’s up to the supervisor to teach them how to maintain it and repair it. Reason for leaving: Termination. I was fired on the grounds of poor attendance. The only time I missed was 9/17/2011-9/26/2008 (there was a weekend in there too) due to being struck in the back of the head by a careless person operating a forklift with a load on the fork raised up in the air which obstructed his view. I was wearing earplugs due to the saw, so I never heard the sound of the forklift coming. The person on the lift truck never saw me, and I didn’t hear him coming. As a result I was knocked completely unconscious for about 15-20 minutes. I woke up after the EMT’s already had me on the stretcher. I received 6 staples to the back of the head and a nasty scar. I returned for a week and a half full duty. I missed work |
