HIGH TEMPERATURE FOOD GRADE PLASTIC COATING Inquiry (采购产品): HIGH TEMPERATURE FOOD GRADE PLASTIC COATING My name is Juan J (JJ) Urbano, I’m in the alternative energy market, mainly solar, photovoltaic for electricity and thermal for heating water. Amongst our customers are tortilla makers companies which require its tortilla making machinery and devices to be food grade. Currently they are using iron cast or aluminum in the pan that cook corn tortillas, also they use iron cast for the boiling pan where they boil the corn prior to making tortilla. We provide them with solar heating for the water with significant (50% to 70%) savings on LP gas for that boiling process. Currently there is no health problem for not being food grade in the corn-tortilla process because of the very high temperature the process requires, for boiling the corn, the water has to be at 95° C, and for cooking the tortilla, the oven where the tortilla is cooked reaches 280° to 320° C. However, the Mexican government is pushing them for raise the level of the industry in all aspects, including the food grade for all devices that handles elements that will be in contact with the tortilla at any stages. The solution is to use stainless steel (304 or 316 formula) for getting the food grade in all those devices, however, besides to be expensive, it could also take long time for getting all the industry to change their current machinery for a new equipment that fulfill FDA food grade standards, so I was thinking in perhaps if we can find a half way solution in the sense of to provide those tortilla makers entities with a food grade high temperature plastic coating to those devices, that can be applied on site, getting the corn and the tortilla in contact with that “food grade” plastic, rather than current iron cast elements, then, the tortilla business men can fulfill Mexican Government for food grade requirement while prepare themselves and make arrangement for changing the equipment at proper time. As you can see, there is a very good window opportunity to provide them with a solution that could be less expensive than changing completely the machinery and devices at this point in time, and at the same time, they are fulfilling Government requirements. Two big issues to take into consideration: First is that such High Temperature Food Grade Plastic Coating should resist the temperature at which tortilla process requires, for corn boiling up to 95° C and 320° C for cooking the tortilla; Second, the solution shall not make a big difference in the LP gas consumption in the process, I mean, the “thick” of the high temperature food grade plastic coating should not represent a thermal barrier or insulation between the source of heat and the tortilla raw material, because in that case, the cost of this potential solution would jeopardize the benefit if, at the end of the day, the LP gas bill is more expensive because of the extra consumption generated by the “thermal barrier o insulation coating” of the plastic than running the equipment without the coating. As a matter of fact, if that HTFGPC were of Teflon, perhaps can help in reducing the LP gas consumption as far as that product retain heat in the oven for cooking tortilla. I hope I’ve been explicit in my requirement, we need a High Temperature Food Grade Plastic Coating, that could be applied in site, that resist 320°C continuously and that do not generate a “thermal barrier or insulation” between the source of heat and the tortilla raw material. Please let me know if you have or handle this type of product, if not, do you know and you can advise me where can I find such type of product? Thanks in advance for your help, Kind Regards JJ **** Hidden Message ***** Juan Jose Urbano Castelan 52937 MEXICO Company: SOLAR AND THERMAL SOLUTIONS E-mail: jjurbano@avantel.net **** Hidden Message ***** jjurbano@avantel.net |
