Together we can offer you substantial monetary incentives of $110, 00 per megawatt per year for that commitment in efforts to correct environmental issues and alleviate power shortages. This payment is locked in for 5 years. SCE has brought us on to help them provide more flexibility and opportunities to their customers. By your facility participating in this program you will help alleviate future blackouts. THIS CALL WOULD BE A SAME DAY; 2 HOUR NOTICE; EMERGENCY CALL ONLY. THERE HAS ONLY BEEN ONE CALL SO FAR IN 2008 AND IT WAS A TEST CALL – but our customers GOT paid anyway! THINK ABOUT THIS SCENARIO? If you were going to be called and alerted that there was going to be a blackout within two hours how would you prepare and what equipment or electrical power devices would you shift/curtail or shut down to protect your operations? Please understand this is not a program meant to put undue stress on a facilities operating procedures. This reduction should be derived at your comfort level and if that is 200kw we will take it. The bottom line is if we are calling you your operations are probably going down anyway – so why not help out and get paid for it. We will work with you to help determine which equipment in your facility can be easily turned on and off without impacting operations but will maximum your revenue. This is a very serious problem in California with an easy solution. Our program is 100% voluntary. If you are currently involved in a SCE program we will explore alternative solutions.
