Does not require silica fume, fly ash, AEA, plasticiser or water reducer ? Non hazardous WHAT IS KALMATRON? There are numerous admixtures on the market today. These admixtures include water reducers, retarders, superplasticisers and shrinkage compensating types. Kalmatron is none of the above. It is an inorganic composition, with a chemical structure simular to cement. Unlike any other admixtures once Kalmatron is placed in the concrete mix there is no way of identifying Kalmatron other than the performance of the cured concrete. As previously mentioned the chemical component of Kalmatron consists of what the cement grain contains internally. We already know that concrete without Kalmatron has a weak electro chemical composition so with the addition of Kalmatron this change will increase 10-20 times depending on the concrete mix. The reason why this increase in electrochemical activity is not harmful to the concrete is that these "charges" already exists in the concrete. Kalmatron added to the concrete mix has allowed two very important changes to occur. ? Kalmatron is designed to "crack" the shell around the cement grain thus creating a greater volume of cement gel. ? The second process is to oxidise the active components of the cement grain to create a greater amount of electrons. Unlike other additives that are only fillers and plasticizers, which over time are repelled by concrete, KALMATRON is a powder composition that is chemically close to cement. It becomes HOMOGENOUS with concrete. Briefly, Here is what it does: A. Used in pure form, as a 3mm-5mm layer on old or new concrete, it will penetrate 50 to 150 mm and make the concrete 100% impermeable to water, sea water, oil, sewage and most chemicals. As a 3mm-5mm layer, it is ideal for repairing old deteriorating concrete structures, buildings, bridges, and tunnels. KALMATRON covers these structures, penetrates deep into the old concrete, and stops further deterioration. This is achieved at a tiny fraction of the cost and time needed for replacing the structure. Used as an ADDITIVE to CONCRETE MIX, it will hydrate all the cement grains(with much less water), it will make concrete very DENSE, it will take compression strength up 20%, (or flexural strength up 20%).
