Inquiry (采购产品): I-Beams The ceililng in our garage fell in because the builder used 8ft trusses for the garage ceiling and the lunber quality was bad. Consequently the sheetrock fell in. If I replace the wooden beams with I-Beams will I still have to use the same span between each as the wooden or can I use 24 foot I-beams and since they will be stronger go with a wider span in between? Since this is a double car garage I will most likely have to have posts set in cement in the middle to keep this from happening again so I could use 12 ft beams with a 24 ft running horizontally down the middle? What is the cost and the amouunt needed would depend on if I could get by with using less. We have 6 wooden supports that are cracked all the way through.
