Regards, Jeff Taylor Requirements for Production *All information and requirements contained in this document are to be considered CONFIDENTAIL and proprietary to the author.* Critical characteristics of each mat: Weight/sq. foot= > .3 lbs. Overall Thickness (including protrusions)=<.85” Overall Dimensions per mat= 15” x 60” Mat shall be transparent, or as close to clear in color as possible. Mat shall be constructed of a single length of material with no removable parts. Mat shall be constructed of such a material so as to allow the mat to lie flat on a floor and also be rolled into a tight cylinder for packaging and storage. Mat shall then lay flat again after unrolling. Each mat shall be made in a form and of a substance as to lie flat on a floor surface, with adequate slip resistance to prevent the mat from sliding easily on a clean, smooth, solid floor. Top surface of mat shall consist of multiple thin protrusions as to produce a sparse “carpet” effect. Protrusions shall be no longer than .75” and have a density of approx. 30-40 units per sq. inch. Protrusions shall be thin enough to collapse under pressure of a human touch, but rigid enough to provide “uncomfortable” resistance to such. Structure shall be similar to that of a common door mat. Top surface of mat shall have a border of .5” on each long side to allow stamping of manufacturer information, disclaimers, etc. Short sides of mat shall have texture flush to the ends. Mat shall be able to be cut to shape by consumer using common household scissors. Top surface of mat shall be screen printed, painted, or embossed with manufacturer design to be determined. Mat shall adhere to all Consumer Product Safety Commission requirements for children’s toys and consumer products. (16 C.F.R. 1630 and 1631; CPSA 15 U.S.C. §§ 2051?2089; FHSA 15 U.S.C. §§1261?1278) Mat shall be free of phthalate plasticizers: DINP (diisononyl phthalate) and DEHP (diethylhexyl phthalate).
