SunNight Solar Inquiry (采购产品): SunNight Solar - LED Requirements My firm is experiencing very strong demand for our products and are having difficulties in maintaining LED quality control (duration of use, early burn out, wide difference in the same batch, less then accurate data sheets, etc). We have a unique solar light – www.sunnightsolar.com and we need to switch suppliers and get up to speed on production as soon as possible. I provide below our specifications – Sincerely, Mark Bent Sun Light SL-2 LED Specification Version 1.2 The LED specification consists of both the table overleaf plus the material in the following notes. LEDs which differ from this specification to some extent may be acceptable but it is essential that the differences are stated. Suppliers should indicate areas where their products vary from this specification. The present equipment utilises 3 x 60 mA LEDs. Suppliers may also offer a single "half Watt" LED which otherwise meets the specifications for the 3 x 60 mA LEDs, but this must be in addition to the 3 x 60 mA LEDs which are the primary requirement. A summary specification table is provided at the end of this document. This is provided as a summary for convenience and does not replace the more extensive requirements in the remainder of this specification. Suppliers should provide for each LED offered - LED brand, part number, data sheets, any available related information & ideally a website reference. (Data sheet to show all available relevant specifications & radiation pattern). - A guarantee re specifications (especially initial Lumens per Watt and lumen maintenance) Price: This requirement is cost sensitive. A preferred solution will be the lowest cost one which is guaranteed to meet the specification. While luminous efficiencies of much greater than 50 lumens/Watt are desirable these would be chosen only if they were cost competitive with others which met the specification. Durability: Guaranteed 10,000 hours operation to >= 70% of initial level is a major requirement. Products unable to both meet and guarantee this requirement are unlikely to be chosen. Offering products for which this specification is questionable in not liable to be productive. _______________________________________________________________ Chromaticity: In the following diagram the chromaticity area shown by the b1, b2 binnings is preferred. TASK LIGHT LEDS 1 Operating current >= 20 mA 2 Maximum current Supplier to specify 3 Body type 5mm, through hole (note 1) 4 Double half-power angle Supplier to provide radiation pattern diagram 15 +/- 3 degrees ROOM LIGHT LEDS 11 Forward Voltage Supplier to specify 12 Operating current >= 60 mA 13 Maximum current Supplier to specify 14 Body type 10mm, through hole (note 1) 15 Double half-power angle Supplier to provide radiation pattern diagram. A beam shape that places more energy away from the centre than Lambertian is preferred. "Batwing" pattern is ideal. Nominally 120 degrees (Note 2) ALL LEDS 21 Average luminous efficiency, all in batch This figure MUST be guaranteed. >= 50 lumens/Watt 22 Lumens output. Candela may also be specified if desired for 20 mA LEDs but lumens output if the primary figure of interest Supplier to specify. 23 Minimum luminous efficiency / intensity >= 70% of average supplied 24 Maximum luminous efficiency / intensity <= 140% of average supplied 25 Chromaticity Perceived as white by users. Preferred ~ within CIE Chromaticity range (0.3,0.3) - (0.35,0.35). 26 Lumen maintenance. MUST be guaranteed. >= 70% of initial value after 10,000 hours operation under specified conditions 27 Operating environment 60 Celsius PCB temperature 0-100% relative humidity non condensing. 28 CRI Supplier to specify. As high as possible, subject to meeting luminosity requirements. In addition to the parameters specifically mentioned above suppliers should provide a data sheet which lists all the usually specified information for the LED offered. Notes: Background: The Sun Light Sl-2 has two sets of white LEDs. One set provides narrow angle Task Light illumination. The other set provides wide angle Room Light illumination. Each of Room Light and Task light mode has three brightness levels. In each mode all of the relevant LEDs are illuminated and the DC current in the LEDs is varied to alter brightness. The three brightness levels correspond to currents of 100%, 50% and 25% of the maximum value. For the Task Light mode maximum LED current is 20 mA. For the Room Light mode maximum LED current is about 55 mA (corresponding to about 500 mW maximum input power). The Task Light mode uses 6 x 5mm 20 mA LEDs operated in series. The Room Light mode uses 3 x 10mm 60 mA LEDs operated in series. Each of the existing 60 mA, 10mm Room Light LEDs uses 3 LED die in the one LED package. Light output, Chromaticity and CRI requirements: Superior lumens/Watt (l/W) is more valued than best colour as long as the light is not discernibly blue or yellow to users. ie good CRI and closeness to blackbody line are desirable but less valued than l/W. Lifetime / lumen maintenance. The LEDs must be guaranteed to achieve a lifetime of a minimum of 10,000 hours operation at full rated LED current while producing light levels of more than 70% of specified output when operated in the conditions specified below. Target usage is 4 hours per day for 5 years in a tropical environment with luminosity >= 70% of initial. As different users could use either the Room or Task light modes in this manner both need to be able to meet the requirement. Lumen maintenance of 10,000 hours to 70% is modest compared to many industry claims. It must be met well. Suppliers should both certify compliance with this specification and provide actual expected lifetime data at full current and at selected lower currents. While Lumen maintenance is specified at maximum operating current the expected lifetimes when operated at reduced currents is of interest. Operating conditions PCB temperature* 0 Celsius - 60 Celsius 0 - 100% relative humidity non condensing,. PCB temperature of 0 - 60 degrees Celsius. * PCB temperature of 60 Celsius is the maximum temperature at the point where the LED leads are soldered to the mounting PCB, based on a 40 Celsius ambient, 10 Celsius ambient to internal rise and 10 Celsius internal to PCB differential. General: Superior lumens/Watt is more valued than best colour as long as the light is not discernibly blue or yellow. ie good CRI and closeness to blackbody line are desirable but less valued that l/W. SUMMARY TABLE This table provides a summary of the technical requirement. It is NOT the actual requirement - see above specification for full requirement. LED, White, 20 mA, 15 degree double half-power angle 50 l/W+ typical 10,000 hours operating lifetime "Typical" means batch average >= rated value. Min value >= 70% typical. Max value <= 140% typical. Lifetime is minimum hours at rated current in typical applications to 70% rated output. These 6 LEDs are used for the Task Light mode. LED, White, 60 mA, 90 to 120 degrees double half-power angle or batwing distribution. 50 l/W+ typical 10,000 hours lifetime "Typical" means batch average >= rated value. Min value >= 70% typical. Max value <= 140% typical. Lifetime is minimum hours at rated current in typical applications to 70% rated output. These 3 LEDs are used for the RoomLight mode. The following LED may be offered IN ADDITION to the 60 mA LED above ADDITIONAL LED, White, 500 mW 90 to 120 degrees double half-power angle or batwing distribution. 50 l/W+ typical 10,000 hours lifetime Do not offer instead of 60 mA LED.
