My name is Michael Singer and I am a volunteer at Sacred Heart Community Service in San Jose, California, Ref: http://www.sacredheartcommunityservice.org/ We are a non-denominational community service organization that provides food and clothing to the needy within a five zip code area. We distribute food to approximately 20,000 individuals per month and clothing to approximately 15,000 per month. We also provide housing assistance, job assistance, computer training, ESL training, and citizenship training. We distributed food boxes to 2,507 families during Thanksgiving 2007 and 2,335 food boxes to families during Christmas 2007. We also had 5,057 children participate in our Christmas Toy Box Program. We are an IRS non-profit and our tax ID number is: 23-7179787. We use many 32-gallon plastic trash bags. They are multi-purpose here. Our Clothes Closet distributes clothing in them because they are easy for our customers to carry home. At Christmas time we use them for our Toy Distribution.
