The application is measuring the diameter of strings for musical instruments in various materials: brass, iron, steel, nylon, and natural animal gut. Resolution to 0.002 mm is desirable. I am looking at the Starrett No. 225M (their catalog no. V225MF, EDP no. 64225) special-function wire micrometer. Can you supply this? Are there equivalent or alternative micrometers that you would suggest for this application?
