tornado sirens Inquiry (采购产品): tornado sirens December 8, 2008 My name is Beth Cox. I own the technology for weather stations that provides advance warning of severe weather. These weather stations detect the formation of tornadoes before they hit the ground. They, in turn, can automatically turn on sirens in cities. The National Weather Service uses satellites and radar. By the time the Weather Service notifies officials in the areas where the weather is severe, people may have little if any time to react. These weather stations give real time weather data and warning. There is no lag time. The weather stations are state of the art and run 24 hours a day 7 days a week. They constantly monitor the weather. We have an array of weather stations in Fayetteville, TN that have run non-stop for over five years. Because of these weather stations, Fayetteville, Tennessee received a Project Impact Award. My husband invented these weather stations, but passed away several years ago. He had a business partner that did not do enough to sell the technology. The business partner owns his own company and has decided to pursue other interests. Because of this I am looking for a company to either buy the licensing rights with an exclusive contract for five years or to buy the technology outright. I would like for your company to consider this. I appreciate what you said on your web-site concerning the importance of having highly trained technicians doing the work. My husband was worried about other people having access to his technology. Because of this, he did all of the installations himself. He also made sure that every piece of the weather station was state of the art. Even though the technology has been in the field for several years, it is in an area that does not experience many tornadoes. However, it did capture one, an F-0 that was moving 60 mph. My husband was worried about false alarms and F-0 tornadoes. His biggest fear was that the weather stations would not detect small tornadoes. They do. I am also happy to say that we have never had one false alarm. We had these weather stations in several areas of Texas during severe weather seasons for several years. They perform flawlessly.
