Inquiry (采购产品): Packaging RFP DEK Drain produces a deck drainage system which is installed under a raised deck to keep the area under the deck dry. All components of the system are made of a rubber membrane cut into sheets of different sizes and shapes. These sheets are rolled for packing and shipping. Our current business model is to ship single orders which are sold over the Internet. We currently ship approximately XXX orders a year. The packing and shipping of orders on this relatively small scale is inefficient. In 2009, we are shifting to a distribution model requiring shipment of enough product for 50-200 orders at a time. The product would be packaged for retail sales by lumber yards and home improvement outlets. We are seeking a vendor who can assist in designing the most efficient system for our specific needs. We also need to purchase equipment and supplies for both consumer and distributor packaging. Our proposed specifications are listed below. However, we are open to alternative approaches which might increase efficiency and/or reduce expenses. Consumer Packaging ? Pack rolls in 2 mm heat sealed plastic bags to keep product clean at job sites. ? Place labels on both ends of the roll with arrows indicating the appropriate orientation for installation. ? Hold the rolls together for packing. ? Label each roll with bar code, component name and measurements. We are open to different ways that the rolls could be labeled—label under the plastic bag, label stuck or printed on the plastic bag, etc. Distributor Packaging The packaged rolls would be palletized and shrink wrapped for shipping to distributors.
