Developed a tail lamp infrared blind spot detector product that included printed circuit board, wiring harnesses, thermopile infrared sensor, optical mirror, silicon window, IR heat slug, within an injection molded enclosure. ? Advanced knowledge and experience with 3D CAD solid modeling and drawing generation and drawing generation per ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing GD&T and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) six sigma methodology. ? Designed die-casting chassis housing to protect electronic hardware from severe thermal / vibration environments and make as water submerge proof from sealing techniques. ? Experience with design and manufactured processes for plastic injection molding for housings and insert molded lead frames. ? Use sophisticated laboratory equipment to gather thermal and flex load strain data on PCB’s to evaluate electromechanical system designs. ? Performed and obtained thermal and structural analytical results using ANSYS workbench software. Verified theoretical results through DOE from proto parts. ? Document the design for Failure Modes and Effects Analysis FMEA to comply with the quality system. Hands-on experience building and testing prototypes and identifying failure modes I have work experience in all aspects of mechanical packaging of electronic product design, including printed circuit board housing enclosure design and mounting, electrical system interconnections, injection molded plastic/rubber, sheet metals and cast metals systems that are water resistant, have optimized structural and thermal performance, minimize assembly labor, and are higher quality and lower cost than competitive products within an automotive environment. My latest project was adaptive cruise control for Volvo (radar and camera based). During my time at Delphi, I saved $363K over a 5 year life program which included manufacturing capital investment by eliminating thermal gap filler/pad component through Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and thermocouple experiments.
