Presently I am working on a pre-study project to Implement an effective parts feeder solution aiming on lean and agile production. The project is going on "VOLVO PARTS" in Eskilstuna, SWEDEN. Volvo parts is Eskilstuna supplies about 1, 10,000 different spare parts to 100 different countries. The spare parts vary from smallest parts such as ring (couple of grams) to biggest parts such as Construction equipments boom (9000 kg).About 1,300 outsourcing suppliers are integrated with Volvo parts operations. It has about 94% availability of spare parts. The storage capacity is 30,000 square meter where 200 blue collars are working in 3(three) shifts. My project goal is to give a feeder system solution which will conduct sorting, counting, packaging the small parts (Initially the product target is couple of grams in weight and couple of mm to 3 cm in size).The feeder system coule be robot based.
