Inquiry (采购产品): r-type thermocouples We harden high speed steel using 960 salt at +/- 1200 C using an electrode High Heat Furnace and we monitor the furnace with R-Type thermocouples. We use 0.380 gauge platinum/rhodium wire, which as you know is very expensive. We run the wire through a porcelain tube and cover the tube with a mild steel pyrometer sheath(+/- 30mm dia). Our problem is for one the gauge wire is very expensive(R40,000 for 5m) and the pyrometer sheaths only last 3 to 4 days.We can’t use an eye sensor because of the smoke let off by the furnace and the surface sometime gets a skin on top so we would not get a very accurate reading. The accuracy we need is +/- 10 C between the t/c and the actual temp in the furnace. Is there another alternative to monitor the furnace accurately. **** Hidden Message ***** Grant Bradbury 3200 ZAF Company: Somta Tools E-mail: grant@somta.co.za **** Hidden Message ***** grant@somta.co.za
