Sale, removal and safe disposal of hazardous and scrap waste Inquiry (采购产品): Sale, removal and safe disposal of hazardous and scrap waste United Nation Mission in Sudan (UNMIS)-Sudan The Bid: Sale, removal and safe disposal of hazardous and scrap waste (UNMIS) Place: United Nations Mission in Sudan Date of Expression of Interest: 18 October 2009 Reference: EOI/MIS10/SALES/AS Description of Requirement: The United Nations Mission in Sudan(UNMIS) intends to establish contract(s) with one or more companies for the sale and the environmentally-sound removal/safe disposal of hazardous and scrap waste. 1. Point of collection of the items to be sold is UNMIS Logistics Base, El-Obeid, Sudan and/or Juba, Southern Sudan 2. The waste includes, but is not limited to the following categories and components: 2.1. Hazardous solid chemicals, e.g. toner cartridges; water purification components; fluorescent tubes, lamps and thermometers containing Mercury; Mercury in other measuring equipment; oil, fuel and air filters; transformers; solid contaminated by hazardous chemicals, asbestos, caustic soda; contaminated rags; hazardous solid clinical waste 2.2. Hazardous liquid chemicals, e.g. flammable liquids adhesive containing; flammable liquids — isopropyl alcohol; flammable liquids — acetonitrile, ethanol, methanol, meths spirit; flammable liquids containing petroleum distillates; paint including thinners; caustic alkali liquids; difluorophosphoric, hydrochloric and phosphoric acids; anhydrous; turpene hydrocarbons; sodium hydroxide, chlorate and aqueous solutions; ammonium oxalate; caffeine; lead hromate/thiocyante, strontium/magnesium oxalate; pesticides, weed killer; alcohols general, ethanol, methanol, isopropanol 2.3. Used dry cell batteries 2.4. Used lead acid batteries 2.5. Hazardous electronic waste, e.g. CPU, monitors, laptops, printers, peripherals, hand held 2 way radios, fixed 2 ways radios mobile phones, satellite equipment, communications relay stations, fax machines, fixed telephones, video and audio equipment, security equipment, photographic equipment, office equipment, mercury switches, vehicular electronic waste, clinical equipment, recreational equipment 2.6. Used and damaged tires and tubes 2.7. Used damaged furniture, e.g. desks, tables, chairs, cabinets, closets and book shelves, beds 2.8. Scrap metal waste, e.g. vehicle shells, vehicle parts, metal from the segregation and cannibalization of UN property/inventory, metal sea containers, prefab containers 2.9. Scrap plastic wastes, e.g. containers 2.10. Scrap glass wastes/products 2.11. Scrap cables and PVC cable insulation waste 2.12. Scrap appliances, e.g. washing machines, drying machines, refrigeration equipment, steam irons, kettles 2.13. Soft wall structures including frameworks Conditions 3.
