Inquiry (采购产品): EU REACH Date: April 22, 2009 Dear sir / Madam We are contacting you regarding the EU chemicals policy REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and restriction of Chemicals) which came into effect on June 1, 2007. Following the official release of the SVHC list on October 28, 2008, we are determining our supplier’s usage of SVHC’s (Substances of Very High Concern). We are required to take reasonable actions to maintain and communicate compliance to our customers. Notification of SVHC when present in articles: Article 7 of REACH details the criteria under which a SVHC would need to be notified to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) if it is present in an article (product). In summary, notification would be required if: (a) the substance is present in those articles in quantities totaling over 1 ton per producer or importer per year, and; (b) the substance is present in those articles above a concentration of 0.1 % weight by weight (of article). As a supplier of parts and material substances to GM Nameplate your assistance is necessary to enable us to comply with this Regulation. I am writing today concerning your “StatoGrey” anti-static bags and or other products you supply to GM Nameplate In our company I am co-coordinating our activities to comply with the REACH Directive. As REACH requires a substance by substance approach to implementation, we are writing to ask you to provide us with answers to the following questions. Please regard this as the start of an exchange of information between GM Nameplate and our suppliers on REACH SVHC’s. We realize you may not be able to answer these questions directly and might need to refer in turn to your suppliers. However, it is imperative that this information be accumulated and reported back to GM Nameplate in a timely manner.
