custom seal inquiry Inquiry (采购产品): custom seal inquiry To whom this may concern, I am currently looking for a replacement for a foam gasket that is used in a product my company sells. We are interested in using a silicone gasket that would act similarly as a refrigerator door gasket. Ideally the profile of the gasket would be a hollow D-shape and the backside of the gasket would be adhesive backed. Attached is a drawing of the geometry that we are considering. For the durometer, we would like something soft around 10A to 30A. The application is to seal a door that opens and closes. The seal is expected to prevent ambient air to pass under the door. The door bottoms out on the mating surface and the seal runs around the mating surface in a groove. A spring holds the door against the mating surface. There is a 0.2mm interference now for the gasket to compress with the dimensions provided. The surface that the gasket will stick to is made out of Ultem 1000. Silicone was chosen for the material because this application can see temperatures as high as 150 degrees Celsius. Is this something that you can fabricate? If so, can you provide me with a quote for 25, 50, & 100? If there are limitations, we are willing to modify the shape and profile so that the part is feasible to make. If a hollow core D-shape profile is not attainable, we are willing to use a solid core profile and/or a different profile shape. Our main concern is that the gasket performs a seal under low compression force with the provided footprint. If you could provide samples of various materials and cross section profiles, that would be great. Thank you for your time and have a great day.
