Position Summary: The candidate will be responsible for the planning and purchasing a variety of commodities to support production requirements to achieve required customer service and inventory management metrics. Additional responsibilities include cost management / control, supervision of inventory management personnel, update computer records, interpret and take appropriate actions from a variety of outputs from the ERP system. Concentration on developing and implementing a Cycle Counting Inventory Management system to improve record accuracy and identify root cause of errors. Implemented a ‘Material Review Board’ in an effort to better understand and communicate to the organization the impact of engineering changes on the inventory balances and ultimately the process flow on the production floor. Inc., Seymour, Indiana 2001- 2006 Purchasing Agent - Buyer of components for Tier Two Automotive Supplier Aisin USA Mfg., Inc is a leading manufacturer of high quality automotive components. Aisin is a QS9000 certified, Japanese affiliated, global company. This position locates and develops sources of supply for parts and materials; interviews prospective suppliers; determines factors regarding best quality, cost and delivery; negotiates best cost and value; conducts APR (annual price review) cost reductions; conducts VA/VE projects with assigned suppliers; processes requisition and purchase orders; develop technical knowledge of processes and programs including TPS (Toyota Production System). Each Purchasing Agent is responsible for particular processes (commodities) as well as specific programs related to the customer’s vehicles. Process responsibilities have included; insert and molded plastic parts, powdered metal parts, castings, machined parts, pipe, tubing, hardware items, rubber parts, extrusions, and metal stampings. Current position requires the ability to communicate effectively; timely preparation of RFQs; analysis of quotations; development of budgets; ability to read and understand blueprints; to develop and analyze spreadsheets and charts. ROTARY LIFT, Madison, Indiana 1974-2001 Senior Buyer 1995-2001 Purchased $50 million in production materials per year and managed Just-In-Time inventory and delivery program holding on-hand inventory to $2 million. Wrote Requests for Quotes, selected suppliers, negotiated contracts, performed capability and compatibility studies, and inspected vendor facilities both in the US and overseas. Issued and audited purchase orders. As Certified ISO 9001 Internal Auditor: conducted internal audits and trained new internal auditors. ? Member of Implementation Team for the Rotary Parts Verification Program (RPVP) to ensure that all parts purchased from outside sources met ISO 9001 specifications. Achieved ISO 9001 Certification in 1996. ? Reduced inventory from $4 million down to $2 million over a six-year period through consigned stock agreements, accelerated deliveries, and changing monthly deliveries to weekly deliveries. ? Material Control Supervisor 1986-1995 Managed production materials for all three production lines, coordinating delivery between production and shipping/receiving while maintaining accurate inventories of all work in process. Purchased production materials for the whole plant and monitored completed orders through liaison with sales and production. Supervised administrative assistant who keyed purchase orders, completed all data entry for cycle counts, and researched bills of material for special material requirements. ?
