Inquiry (采购产品): plastic recycling I am one of the volunteers from the Haiti Medical Mission of Wisconsin (haitimedicalmission.com) which is based in Baraboo and has had volunteers from the surrounding area over the past 13 years. In addition to the health care work, we have started to do other community projects. I was in Haiti this summer teaching women how to crochet plastic bags into purses, started a cooperative with them, and they are now beginning production and sale of their products. One of the major concerns that I heard was how to deal with their plastic waste/garbage; of two particular sorts. The first, and a lot of it, is the fact that they use the 6 ounce plastic "dixie" drink cups and (as there is no garbage collection in the town) these cups are EVERYWHERE. And, being plastic, they don't go away. Secondly, they also drink a lot of beverages from plastic bottles, much like our soda and juice bottles. I am trying to think of a way to recycle this material, and a subsequent product to produce with this material. One of my thoughts is to reduce it to small particles and use it as stuffing for pillows/mattresses type things. The pillow I sleep on when I am there is filled with torn up pieces of paper! Would you have any ideas? Could I come and talk with you? I would greatly appreciate your consultation and expert advice on this matter. Thank you for your consideration. **** Hidden Message ***** Kathy Roberg S10915A Fox Road Sauk City , WI 53583 USA Company: Haiti Medical Mission of Wisconsin Title: RN Phone: 608-370-1842 E-mail: kar8525@gmail.com **** Hidden Message ***** kar8525@gmail.com
