CVT Gearing for Invention Engine Inquiry (采购产品): CVT Gearing for Invention Engine R. L GIULIANI 1456 Thurston Ave. A-1204 Honolulu, HI 96822 Email: ouengine@hawaiiantel.net Pho: 808 524 6380 17 JAN 2009 Moore Gear & Manufacturing Co. 2 Hawthorne Dr., P.O. Box 49 Hermann, MO 65041-0049 Dear Sir, Can Moore Gear & Manufacturing Co. provide gears for a Continuously Variable Gear Transmission (CVGT) suitable for my engine invention? I have made some claims about gears here that are based upon information that I took from the internet. For example, the internet says that quality gears can be 98% - 99% efficient. Also that spur and bevel gear ratios can be 6:1. The news has been telling us of the auto industry’s woes because its cars won’t sell due to inefficient crankshaft engines that get low mileage and emit high exhaust pollution. The news told the world that the U.S. auto industry will suffer if it fails to get a $34B federal bailout to stay solvent and there is no guarantee that the industry would remain solvent even it got the bailout. I have a High Torque Power Offset Piston Engine invention (patent no. 7,128,042 issued Oct 31, 2006). At least one university math professor who reviewed my engine description labeled it "ingenious". He was especially interested in FIG 2 and FIG 5 in its website www.abetterengine.com. The website also uses simple mathematics to explain why it is impossible to develop a fuel efficient crankshaft engine. Engine development is expensive and mine will be no exception. I do not have the funds to develop this engine. But I can email a negotiable license contract to develop, manufacture and market my engine that you can use. Purpose of the invention: Replace the inefficient, high exhaust polluting crankshaft engine with an efficient high torque power offset piston engine. Crankshaft engine substitutes and add-ons include compressed air, heavy lithium-ion battery, hybrids, fuel cells, etc. All have severe limitations. My patented engine can replace them with a high power to weight engine that exhausts very low emissions. Problems the Invention Solves: My engine will be very fuel efficient. Fuel efficiency reduces exhaust emissions. My engine can be engineered for power requirements ranging from large marine engines to small automobile engines. Drawings of the engine are in its website www.abetterengine.com. A single idler gear provides ignition timing between two out-of-phase offset pistons for a 2-Stroke. A 4-stroke would use three idlers between four out-of-phase offset pistons. It can be easily changed between a 2-Stroke and a 4-Stroke by an unskilled person. See FIG 8 and FIG 9 in its patent no. 7,128,042. This allows it to be adapted to driving conditions and save fuel. A 1-way clutch connects each piston to the straight power shaft. A lever efficiently transmits torque from the 1-way clutch outer race to its inner race. See FIG 4 in the website and patent. A spring loaded single arm lever anchored to the inner race at one end and contacting the outer race at the other end can also be used. The common sprag clutch can be used also. The 1-way clutch prevents engine drag when used with a hybrid which makes my engine more efficient than the crankshaft engine hybrid. This fuel efficient high torque power engine allows for a Continuously Variable Gear Transmission (CVGT). The CVGT gearing is understood so it is not described here. The engine’s low rpm high torque power drive shaft can be combined with high quality 98% - 99% efficient spur and bevel gears to increase the drive shaft rpm to any practical final rpm. For example, a CVGT gearing with 4 gears at 6:1 ratio would increase a high torque power shaft’s 12 rpm to 2592 rpm. If the gearing is 99% efficient, the total CVGT efficiency would be 97%. The CVGT total efficiency would be 94% for 98% efficient gearing. The CVGT also makes this invention practical for a generator. Compare the CVGT to a fluid transmission with torque converter for efficiency and cost. A hybrid can support this engine for large vehicles but because of the absence of engine drag, it is more practical to create drag to control small vehicle momentum. See FIG 1 in the website www.abetterengine.com for an explanation. I have also described an improvement to this engine that should increase its fuel efficiency even more. The improvement has not yet been patented but it is notarized, witnessed by my associate and included in my notarized invention record book as evidence of non-abandonment. I am prepared to apply for its patent. Looking forward to hearing from Moore Gear & Manufacturing Co.
