My product is designed for permanent carbon monoxide detection meeting a marketing need that resulted from recent legislation mandating that hard wire CO detection and notification devices be installed in certain use groups of the Massachusetts state building code 780 CMR. Current legislation and jurisdictional implementation is still evolving, not unlike the developmental curve of past legislation for the requirement of smoke detection and notification. All indications are that CO detection and notification devices are going to require hard wire installation. My product offers the consumer an affordable, hard wired solution to a very serious and possibly deadly situation. This device requires a licensed electrician for installation as well as an electrical permit from the local granting authority. This ensures proper installation and required inspection by a state approved inspector. This provides the consumer with the ultimate security that a qualified system has been installed and inspected. Product advantages: - hard wire device using existing wiring from existing duplex receptacle - no new wiring needed for installation - easy retrofit to existing buildings and homes - ultimate placement height for detection - numeric display to indicate level of gas for first responders - voice activated alarm The potential market for this product is unlimited including but not limited to residential applications. The average home would require approximately 5-8 devices for proper installation. The potential market also includes CMR use groups R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 as well as all business use groups and places of assembly. The timing in the market is now. With new legislation and public awareness consumers are looking for an affordable and permanent, not plug in solution to a very serious and often proven deadly situation.
