Scope The conference aims to bring together delegates from industry, R&D and universities to discuss and exchange views in the latest developments in heat treatment and surface engineering technologies and processes, with emphasis on their applications in machine components and tools, and related manufacturing industries. The conference will also aim to promote a multidisciplinary approach, involving all players in the field of heat treatment and surface engineering that is so essential in the exchange of experience, in technology transfer, and in industrial success. Being the first regional conference and exhibition organized by IFHTSE / EHTS for the Mediterranean countries in the field of heat treatment and surface engineering, it will be a good opportunity to promote cooperation and fruitful links amongst universities and research establishments in the region. Accepted papers will be presented in either oral or poster sessions. Items to be submitted and instructions are as follow, 1. Abstract Deadline: April 30, 2009 Submission: Abstract should be sent by e-mail to address: ehts@ehts-eg.org Format: Paper a one-page abstract in A4 size as a PDF file. It should contain the presentation title, names of authors and abstract text (300-400 words), and should be made using the template shown in website: www.ehts-eg.org. You will also be requested to fill in the Topics that you think are applicable to your abstract from among the items listed in the “Topics” below. You should also indicate the type of presentation you prefer (either oral or poster). Please do not include any product names or trade names in the abstract. Upon acceptance of the abstract, authors are accepted to register and to present their abstracts at Oral/Poster Presentations. Abstracts will be published in the conference abstract book only if presenting author is officially registered with full payment by July 31, 2009. 2.
