Please provide custom made pricing if necessary. 8105-00-857-2250 BAG, PAPER, (SHOPPING): IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING STIPULATIONS: 1. NOMINAL DIMENSIONS: Overall height, 17 inches; face width, 13 inches; bottom width, 7 inches. 2. Construction. Bags furnished under this description shall have a Bursting Strength of not less than 248 kilopascals when tested in accordance with TAPPI T 403 and an average Internal Tearing Resistance in the machine direction of not less than 1079 millinewtons when tested in accordance with TAPPI T 414. Bags shall be self opening style with handles firmly attached at the top of the front face and at the top of the rear face of the bag, centered to within 13 millimeters. The handles shall be in the shape of a loop to provide a comfortable handgrip and shall extend not less than 89 millimeters beyond the top of the bag. Bags shall pass the load capacity test specified below. 3. Dimensions and capacity. The nominal dimensions of the bags, excluding the handles, shall be 17 inches by 13 inches by 7 inches, expressed as overall height x face width x bottom width. Bags shall have a cubic capacity of not less than 23 liters. Capacity shall be determined by multiplying overall height x face width x bottom width. 4. Testing of the bags for Load Capacity. The temperature shall be 17 - 25o C and the relative humidity shall be 40 - 60 % in the area where the bags are tested while the tests are being performed. 4.1 Load the bag by gently placing 14 + 0.5 kilograms of paper products such as paperbacked books inside the bag. By means of a clamp attached to the handles, suspend the loaded bag so that the bottom is not less than 6 inches above a horizontal surface. After not less than 60 minutes, take the bag down, unload it and examine it carefully. Any tear or break in the handle or in the area where the handle is attached to the bag constitutes failure of this test. Any tear or break in other parts of the bag exceeding 1 inch in length constitutes failure of this test. Any seam separation exceeding 1 inch in length constitutes failure of this test. 8105 00-857-2250 Page 2 of 2 5. PACKAGING/PACKING: Two hundred fifty (250) bags shall be packaged into a bundle and wrapped in strong paper or plastic. Bundles are then placed in a in a 275 p.s.i. fiberboard box to withstand reshipment. The shipping container shall not exceed 51 lbs. in weight. 6. MARKING: For civilian destinations - in accordance with FED-STD-123, edition in effect on the date of issuance of the solicitation. For military destinations - in accordance with MIL-STD-129, edition in effect on the date of issuance of the solicitation. For both civilian and military destinations, bar code marking is required. Bar codes shall use the standard symbology specified in MIL-STD-1189. 8105-00-281-1156 BAG, PAPER (GROCERY, SELF OPENING): IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING STIPULATIONS: 1. Grade - Normal duty. 2. Size - Commercial bag number 1/2 (Capacity 29 cubic inches). 3. Bursting Strength: A minimum of 15 psi in accordance with TAPPI-T-403. 4. Internal Tear Resistance: A minimum of 38 grams in machine direction, in accordance with TAPPI-T-414, and shall be determined on the paper before bags are made. 5. Basis Weight: A minimum of 30 pounds per 500 sheets, 24 x 36", single wall. 6. PACKAGING/PACKING: Ten thousand (10,000) bags shall be packaged into a bale. To allow for variability in machine operation, bales containing as few as 9950 bags are acceptable. The bale is then placed in a fiberboard box 275 p.s.i. minimum to withstand reshipment. 7. MARKING: For civilian destinations - in accordance with FED-STD-123, edition in effect on the date of issuance of the solicitation. For military destinations - in accordance with MIL-STD-129, edition in effect on the date of issuance of the solicitation. For both civilian and military destinations, bar code marking is required.
