Inquiry (采购产品): Winfeild Racer Dear Mr Rick Rawlins I was hoping to make contact with you in view that you might be able to share one of Ed Winfield’s close keepted secrets with me. Some 20 or so years ago I made a pattern of the 2up 2down crankshaft from the photos in the Vintage Ford magazine article on the life of Ed Winfield .I then had a casting made and slowly over the next years had the crank ground and fitted up to a 26-7 block. When I came to getting the crank balanced I had to add some 700 grams to the super large counter weights on the crank!! Due to a farly bad motor bike accident some 5 years ago and also that in my last race in my T, I ran 2 and a 1/2 laps of Winton race way with no oil, CO the VW oil pump, I have not built up this motor yet as it is drilled for full pressure and no splash. I will never trust that pump again! I'm planing to keep running my own conversion chev head with Twin SU carbs on my 2up motor. But when I got sent some photos of your Winfield restoration car I knew then that I had to run the long inlet manifold with a model M Winfield Carbie fixed up to it. I have purchased a model c 1-3/4 carb to mate up to my 2" stainless steel inlet manifold that I have started fabricating I was hoping that maybe you could please help me out with some measurements of the vertical plenums length of the Winfield manifold ,as you can see that I am rather good at getting calculations wrong from photographs` Any help that you can give would be greatly appreciated. I would be only too happy to send you photos of my car and engine project Yours in Speed and hopefully more power Mick Murphy **** Hidden Message ***** Mick Murphy 99kellettst Nor AUS Company: Good Phone: 03 94099440 E-mail: jomm@smartchat.net.au **** Hidden Message ***** jomm@smartchat.net.au
