We have acquired a 4 (four) year contract for the transportation of400 000 tons of coal per month. I have been assigned to procure theservices of Transport Companies who would be capable of handling suchvolumes.These companies should be in possession of 36 ton Inter-Link sidetippers and Drivers.Rates: R26/ton (Main Freight - Coal) R11/ton (Return Freight - Items variable & not all tripsguaranteed - approx 25% currently)Route: 70km Return (Roads in good condition - 50% Gravel 50%Tarred) - Middelburg. MpumalangaOperation: 24/7Requirements:1.1 Registration papers of each vehicle1.2 2x stop ends1.3 3x Emergency triangles1.4 Fire extinguishers1.5 Own Canvas Covers1.6 R300 for medical exam and red card (permit for mine).1.7 Must have own PPE (Safety boots overalls and safety vests etc)1.8 A Minimum of 7 (seven) trips per 24 hour shift target.The Main contractor is responsible for Mechanical Labour, Logistical andOperational Management. Admin fee 2.5% of Gross Income per truck.The Trucking Company is responsible for parts, drivers, accommodation andinsurance.Diesel is supplied at R7/litre (subject to global changes) and on account,thus no immediate cost, subtracted from statement.Here are the APPROXIMATE figurers which indicate a very high profit margin.INCOME:36tons x R26/ton x 7trips/day = R6 552.00Return Trips min 25% loaded at R11/ton:36tons x R11/ton x 2trips/day = R792.00 Income per day = R7 596.00 TOTAL INCOME PER MONTH = R220 320.00EXPENSES:Drivers (MIN 2) = R16 000.00Insurance = R 5 000.00Maintenance = R10 000.00Admin fee = R5 508.00Installments = R30 000.00Diesel@ R5/km (14 700km) = R73 500.00TOTAL EXPENSES PER MONTH = R140 008.00TOTAL PROFIT = R80 312.00 (36.45%)4 year contract each truck's NETT = +-R 4 000 000.00 (FOUR MILLION RAND)These figures are the minimum requirement we expect from each truck and arecalculated very conservatively.
