In the six years or so since plant start-up, there has been a rapid deterioration in the integrity of the turbine enclosures. Internal and external corrosion of the enclosures (framework, panels, doors etc.), with subsequent corrosion of equipment within them has been a serious issue and resulting in a large amount of corrective maintenance, degradation of turbine machinery, destruction of panels and ancillary equipment and huge expenditure. We would like to have your architectural review of the enclosure design and assessment their suitability for operation in a tropical marine enviromental - including an assessment of materials, coatings, seals and jointing.
