The shaft and spider assembly should be fabricated using AISI annealed 1018 steel shafting and A-36 Steel plate . Any deviations in material must be approved by Ameren Plant Contacts. The rotor and spider assembly must be stressed relieved and ultrasonic testing, or equivalent, must be performed prior to final finishing of the assembly. Any signs of stressing or cracking should be reported to the Ameren Plant Contacts, and the issues should immediately be resolved before continuing with fabrication. Balance the completed core.
