I think my dial thermostatic control is going. Some years ago I bought from a dealer your for my attic fan but don't have his address which was in MA. The one on the sunroom exhaust fan operates on regular house current at 50 to 90 degrees F. It operates so that it goes on when the temperature exceeds to setting and goes off when it hits the setting or lower. Do you have such a thermostat?
