The start up company, operating out of Atlanta Georgia, has filed several patent pending applications on this new technology it calls – Cold Charge Technology. Cold Charge Technology, as the name suggested, allows previous single-use batteries to be recharged safely and quickly. In addition, the technology recharges rechargeable batteries faster and without generating heat. Fast chargers presently on the market attempt to reduce battery recharge time, by dumping large recharge current into the battery, most of which is converted to thermal energy. These chargers then attempt to remove the damaging heat generated, by employing cooling fans to remove surface heat. Cold Charge Technology, on the other hand, focuses on heat prevention, by stagnating thermal energy to an impressive low of 0.1 degree Celsius. The company’s mark-up prototypes recharge single use batteries in an average of 60 minutes, and rechargeable in an average of 10 minutes. Batteries tested include carbon zinc, alkaline, lead acid, nickel cadmium, nickel metal hydroxide, and lithium ion.
