I recently attended school at NIACC (Northern Iowa Area Community College) under their carpentry program. While attending NIACC, I had the opportunity to be a part of an “Extreme Home Make Over” project where I assisted in building an outdoor fireplace. Under NIACC’s program, we built a shed for the baseball field on campus, a gazebo, and we also had the opportunity to work on a project for Habitat for Humanity. I was a part of the Batavia Building Trades classes from 8th grade and throughout my four years of High School. In High School we had the opportunity to build two complete homes.
