I am looking for a somewhat unusual pricing request. We are building a traveling take-up unit for our Coaxial Cable production equipment. Part of this arrangement is a carriage running on THK Precision Rails and Cross Roller Bearings. I need material to mount the rails on that will give the correct finished height and parallel & perpendicular alignment without a lot of muse and fuse from our shop. I am looking for the most reasonably priced and processed material that can provide adequate flatness, parallelism and perpendicularity. Dimensionally I need three pieces as follows: (3) 1.500+/-010” X 3.500+/-.010” X 48+/-1/8” Flatness, Parallelism & Perpendicularity as follows: 1.500” Flat & Parallel within .001”/12” Length 3.500” Flat & Parallel within .001”/12” Length & 3.500” equal within .002” on all three pcs. 1.500” & 3.500” Perpendicular within .005” CRS, HRS or a Tool Steel grade would be acceptable. For example if you can provide Blanchard Ground HRS or 1.500” thick A-36 Stripper Plate to the specification fine, but if A2 oversized flat material Precision Ground would actually be easier and more economical that would work as well. I believe these specs are closer than for normal Blanchard Ground expectations over the 48” Length. Is this feasible and reasonable or am I all wet? If not easily achieved what are your standard Stripper Plate specifications? I can be reached directly at the contact information below with any questions or concerns.
