Except…the water sensor device will detect water… not detect the absence of it. Anyway, The Thirsty Light has a very simple design and we intend to develop a new similarly operated which will also require TPE over molding (2-shot low shore??). Water Sensor Operation: - Monitor detect presence of water or not - If water present, turn on alarm (piezo motor) for 1-2 seconds, reset - If water still present, continue for 3 cycles, auto-reset. - If water not present, reset - TPE over molding (low shore) Below is the Thirsty Light full board reference schematic: ? 5 SMT resistors ? 2 SMT capacitors ? 1 LED ? 1 8-bit microcontroller 1 brass probe (essentially a resistor) Electrical Characteristics The projected battery life of the Flexible Water Sensor will need to be at least 12-18 months, depending on how often the alarm triggers. The microcontroller's low-voltage and periodic interrupts should allow it to exist for most of its operation time in a state of low power consumption. Every second, an interrupt occurs that starts the soil testing process. When that is complete, the system returns to its idle state until the next interrupt. Your feedback is most appreciated.
