I’m on the board of Society for Applied Spectroscopy, Chicago Section (http://www.sas-chicago.org/). Nationally the society has over 2000 members. As part of our society’s activities we hold monthly meetings usually in Elk Grove Village, Holiday Inn year around. During these meetings we invite a guest speaker to give his/her presentation of his/hers research work, usually connected with spectroscopy as one of the methods in their problem solving. These meetings are usually attended by 30 to 40 people with different interest but somewhat connected to spectroscopy. I have done some research on your lab and find your area of work very interesting, something that our society would also find entertaining and of interest. I would like to invite you to consider being one of the guest speakers at one of our monthly meetings. We are none-for-profit organization, but do have a budget to at least compensate the guest speakers for travel. In addition this also would be a good exposure for your business. The presentations usually are in power-point. Please let me know if you or one of your technical people would like to give a presentation at our dinner meeting (dinner for speaker is free of charge) on their work, something generic, where you would also be promoting your lab, but specific enough, e.g. testing procedures with slides of data and instrumentation and sample preparation followed by conclusions on non-destructive testing of medical materials or the like.
