I have completed training in Lean Six Sigma (Green and Black Belt). I'm bilingual in Spanish and have worked in Mexico since 1989. Presently I'm a Process Engineer with Kimberly Clark. I support the various manufacturing sites located in Mexico, Honduras, and Slovakia. Major projects and accomplishments include: -Organized and lead a focus Team to conduct Process Mapping of the Mexico and Honduras operations. This enabled our team to execute FMEA's on critical path segments of the process and implement Best Practices at both sites. - Used Lean Six Sigma to initiate, organize and lead a cross functional team to study and reduce scrap rate form 22% down to below 10%. - Initiated Lean Manufacturing project to change the process and its related equipment (Laser marking versus Pad Printing) that eliminated over 60 material codes and saved over $120,000 in materials, transportation and process steps. - Initiated product design change project that will eliminate over 25 direct labor headcount. As Plant Manager I was responsible for the Profit and Loss of operations with up to 2000 employees These operations include a plastics extrusion plant in Chihuahua, Mexico, an electric motor assembly plant in Tampico, Mexico, and a chainsaw and string trimmer assembly plant in Hermosillo, Mexico. I was able to increase productivity, reduce headcount, decrease quality defects and scrap, improve safety record and improve employee morale by using Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles..
