UMCOR-Georgia is a representation of US based organization United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR-NGO) in the Republic of Georgia. UMCOR initially established a presence in Georgia in 1993 to distribute emergency pharmaceuticals. Since its inception, the mission has grown to implement a number of transitional development projects throughout the country. UMCOR-Georgia has implemented programs in Georgia with funding from a variety of generous donors including: U.S. Department of State (DOS), USAID, US Department of Agriculture (USDA), USAED, GBGM, Heifer Project International, ECHO, UNDP, UNHCR, The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). Currently we implement the Agricultural Project funded by US Department of Agriculture. The goal of the project is to support small farmers in production and marketing of agricultural products. We intend to support establishment of a 1. Clear apple juice processing mini pilot plant from liquid concentrate for hot filling. 2. UHT milk hot filling mini pilot line from fresh cow milk.
