详细内容 PROCESSESQuality ControlThe main strength of Bananas is the quality of the fruit.This is based on the cosmetic and organoleptic aspect of bananas, that is, presentation and characteristics of the pulp or kernel of the fruit.Cosmetic aspect means that its peal must be free from scars or bruises: its crown must be dry and the cut well defined. No insects or spots of any kind may be present.Strictly speaking, the intrinsic quality of the kernel or pulp begins at the age when the fruit is cut (12 weeks), which guarantees that the pulp or kernel be white and consistent. This also means a longer shelf life from the moment when it is cut up to when it is sold as retail.Fieldbananas has a technical crew in all production areas in order to maintain a rigorous qualify control of the fruit in the fields. This crew verifies that each farm where cutting is to take place is well administrated as to cultivation and that it has an efficient and technical control of Black Sigatoka, a disease of the leaves caused by a fungus which affects the quality of the fruit. The order to cut is given solely under these circumstances, specifying the quality parameters the fruit must have and the products to be used for their treatment.On cutting days, the field experts visit the packaging plant of each banana farm in order to verify the quality of the fruit being cut, processing and packaging, establishing corrective actions whenever needed.Additionally, we work with inspectors quality and quantity internationally recognized as TCI (Trust Control International).Port of DestinationThe follow-up regarding Bananas does not end upon the fruit being loaded for shipment, it ends upon the delivery of the fruit at the port of destination indicated by the purchaser. The quality of the bananas at the port of destination is verified by specialized companies that issue a detailed report of each unloaded compartment and hold . This work is so thorough that it makes it possible to identify quality problems pertaining to each one of the producers by means of a code located inside the boxes, in order to establish corrections should it be needed.In short, Bananas has an efficient and permanent control system until the moment when the consumer receives a first quality fruit which is fed back (retransmitted) by the destination ports in order to preserve and if possible improve the excellence of the quality which has permanently been held during the years they have been exported.ProductionFor it to be possible for you to have these delicious and nutritive Bananas on your table every day, we apply the following production system:Sowing: Between 1.300 and 1.576 plants per ha, depending on the conditions of the soil. Bananas are sown together with vegetative material ( ), which must be obtained from healthy plantations, well administrated and having an excellent yield of the selected variety.Weed control: This work is carried out either chemically or manually.Fertilization: The elements and basic needs for the first year of growth in general are: N 350 kgs; P205 60 Kg; K20 1500 Kg.Removal of Suckers: This is done every 6 or 8 weeks.Reproductive conditionOnce the banana has terminated its vegetative period a flower appears which will become the future cluster.
