Restoration of Aircraft Inquiry (采购产品): Restoration of Aircraft My name is Susanne Johnson and I am a contract specialist with the Directorate of Contracting on Fort Rucker in Alabama. We have four helicopters we are interested in restoring: 1 Bell XH-40 helicopter 1 McCulloh YH-30 helicopter 1 Sikorsky XH-39 helicopter 1 Sikorsky YH-18A helicopter All belong to the Army Aviation Museum and we are seeking a company to perform the restoration. I have attached a portion of the statement of work which specifies what needs to be done. At the completion of work, the aircraft will appear to be as ‘factory new’ and original as is possible with the existing and available repair/replacement parts. The museum will provide all available necessary documentation to insure historical accuracy. The refurbish/repair work will include, but not be limited to the following: ? The vertical stabilizers shall have the fabric removed and cleaned, sanded, painted and new fabric installed; 7 coats of burate dope, then 3 coats of nitrate dope will be applied. ? The tires will be inspected and new tires will be put on if needed. ? All Plexiglas windows and doors shall be inspected and replaced if needed. ? The contractor shall remove all seats and upholstery from the aircraft for cleaning, repair, and or replacement. ? The window and door frames shall be lightly sanded. Rivets, screws, etc., will be removed and re-installed after sanding. ? Door frames and window frames shall be primed with zinc chromate. ? All corrosion will be removed from any metal parts of the helicopter and corrosion resistant treatment applied. ? The contractor shall repair or replace all imperfections on the skin of the helicopter. ? The instrument panel will be painted lusterless black, shade number 37038 and all instruments, cleaned/refinished. ? When finished painting, the instrument panel, radios, etc, will be installed as originally removed. ? Rotor blades will be painted lusterless black shade number 37038, on lower surface, with the upper surfaces, painted gloss olive drab shade number 34087, and the blades shall have a 4-inch tip painted yellow shade number 33538. ? All inside and outside markings will be applied in their correct locations as original. ? The tail rotor blades shall be painted as original. ? The contractor will re-install all seats and upholstery. ? The interior of the engine compartment and drive train will be treated as well. ? The engine will be cleaned and installed with all connections made. ? The contractor will provide any missing linkage, hoses, belts, connectors, locks, and hasps that are needed to bring the aircraft into a complete and accurate representation of the original state at the time of testing and evaluation by the Army.
