Areas where I can be of immediate service are: 1. Auditing for quality and ability to follow contract documents 2. Review contract documents to meet Special Inspection/Building Official requirements 3. Training of personnel for compliance to IBC-2006; AWS & AISC standards/specifications 4. Manage structural steel inspections throughout US – work with Project Managers to ensure field inspections meet contract documents 5. Work with fabrication shops and/or erectors for detailing structural steel connections (Erection Drawings and Structural Drawings where necessary) 6. Work with Project Managers for implementing RFI’s/changes/modifications and field repairs/RFI’s 7. Help ensure adherence to job schedules though a proactive approach to problems/repairs to avoid potential monetary damages for not meeting schedules 8. Review job paperwork (steel) to ensure all necessary documents are received and inspections meet contract documents to insure the owner can obtain the Certificate of Occupancy a. Certificates of Compliance for: Steel; Nuts/Bolts/Washers ; Welding Filler Material b. Structural Steel MTR’s c. All required inspections performed d. Erector/Fabricator/Inspector experience documentation e. Miscellaneous documentation 9. Welding Procedures/Qualifications/Equipment: Manage and keep up to date on new equipment and techniques Overall, to follow Project Specifications; Contract Documents; Code Requirements (AWS-AISC-RCSC-SJI-SDI); & Special Inspection Requirements One of my main goals is to promote accountability of each and every welder/erector to perform the job right the first time in a safe and efficient manner. This will be accomplished by training and working with field personnel. As a result, this will help promote an awareness to foresee potential problems before they occur. When connections cannot be installed as detailed, to have the answers available as soon as possible to limit any scheduling conflicts.
