We are going to start making a part possibly out of 430 Stainles steel, and we are trying to determine weather we need to treat this part to keep it from rusting? Any information you can give or direct me to would be appreciated. I would also like a quote on passivating these parts if need be. How would you quote this? The part is hollow (.60 thick material) and in a "T" shape but the overall size is 7/16" X 3/4" X 7/8", the weight is around .019 lb (53 pcs = about 1 lb) we would be looking at around 10000 pcs a month.
