Inquiry (采购产品): Supply quote on locomotives Dear Sirs We are a firm in South Africa who wishes to quote a company on diesel locomotives. We are confident that we comply with the local government requirements and that we, should our quote be sufficiently competitive, would stand an excellent chance of being successful. Would you be so kind as to indicate whether your company would be interested in supplying us with a quotation based on the specifications below Please note that there are three options to choose from – although we would prefer the first option, you are welcome to respond to the two alternative options too. 1.0 Business Requirement The business needs require that all the locomotives be diesel powered. Offers for diesel-electric, diesel-hydraulic and diesel-direct drive systems will be considered. Total 35 Diesels 4.0 Main and Alternative Offers Interested parties are invited to submit their interest on any one of the following offers, individually or in combination. However, documents should be presented to clearly differentiate between the different alternatives so as to prevent any confusion. Interested parties should clearly indicate their supply strategy and estimated timelines with respect to the making available of the said locomotives. It is preferred that all locomotives to have the equivalent power rating of the 34-Class locomotive 4.1 Main Offer: Procurement of new locomotives to own and operate. . 4.2 Alternative 1: To provide locomotives on a 5 year, renewable, rental basis which would include a: ? Full maintenance program ? Full overhaul program if applicable ? Insurance (excl passenger related liability) ? Dry Rate (excluding diesel and lubrication) ? Board and lodge for any operating and technical crew must be excluded and not form part of any rental costs. 4.3 Alternative 2: A 15 Year Full Maintenance Lease agreement. ? Monthly and annual lease costs must include costs such as and not limited to: o Full maintenance program o Full overhaul program 4.4 Alternative 3: As an alternative to the Class 34 type power rating referred to in 4.1 above, it is required that the respondent (potential tenderer) analyze the current range of diesels on rent from Spoornet as per clause 2.0 and offer the closest match in power rating and numbers in two classes only. The maximum load would be ± 800 tons, for a fully laden 14 coach train. 4.5 Alternative 4: Offers are required for diesel locomotives with auxiliary power of 110 VDC instead of the current standard 72 VDC. Comments are also required to have both 72 VDC and 110 VDC.
