Sea water is at 41°C (=105.8°F), Total salinity = 35,000 ppmw, density = 1018 kg/m3(=63.6 lb/ft3). Requirement is for a sand filter to filter out suspended solids to < 10 micron. Filter vessel to be designed as a pressure vessel. Assume design pressure = 7 barg (=101.5 psig), design T = 70°C (=158°F). Materials of construction to consider sea water service - Epoxy coated carbon steel or FRP lined carbon steel are acceptable.
