Inquiry (采购产品): Defective tool Three months ago I purchased a Lutz 357 utility knife. In a short period of time doing trim work the blade retraction mechanism failed and the knife is of no use to me. I went back to the retailer ( a professional builders supply store) and they told me to contact the manufacturer directly. As far as I can now determine from this website- Lutz File & Tool is a division of Fox Electric Supply. I would like Lutz to either replace the knife ( I would send mine in exchange) with a new one, or just send the blade retraction button and carriage mechanism. On mine the button spring won't stay in place and the blade doesn't lock in the extended position; it just slides back and forth. And while I have several Stanleys knives- all of which have worked flawlessly for years, I liked the feel of the Lutz, the quick change design, and the positive body lock. It's not chintzy; it's just broke. What do you want to do? Eight dollars is not a great sum of money, but when I buy a simple hand tool I spare no expense to buy what I believe will last a long time. With the Lutz I am disappointed. Most people would toss it and not say anything. I am giving Lutz the opportunity to step to the plate and do the right thing here. Let me know.
