The American Red Cross Needs Volunteers Inquiry (采购产品): The American Red Cross Needs Volunteers The American Red Cross in Greater New York wants to build its capacity to respond to disasters here in New York City. Recent events have heightened the need to be better prepared for providing disaster relief services to victims in need. In order to be ready for the next large-scale disaster in the New York area, we are expanding our reserve corps of volunteers who would be called up to help in functions such as mass care and sheltering (free training is provided). These reserve volunteers would be called into action in the event of a major disaster such as a large-scale hurricane, blackout, etc. All we ask is that you publicize this opportunity to your employees via e-mail, a company newsletter, etc. and select a time for them to get together. Then, we would come to pitch the idea by making a presentation to them of what this entails. Please consider joining the ranks of companies like Citigroup, Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield and Verizon by helping us to create a reserve team of volunteers at your firm. There are a number of reasons why companies partner with us. It demonstrates good corporate citizenship, it provides an opportunity to give back to their communities, and it enhances effective leadership and teamwork skills. Employees will also gain a greater understanding of how to prevent, prepare for, and respond to disasters. Most importantly, it helps everyone in our community in times of emergencies.
