Our new requirement is for an auto pointing antenna system of 1.2M reflector size. The product is a "flyaway" antenna, meaning it is relatively lightweight and portable, breaks down to pack into light transport cases for air freight. The unit is outdoors when deployed and needs to be corrosion and water resistant, operating -35'C to +60'C. 2 actuators would be used, one for Azimuth rotation/adjustment and one for Elevation adjustment. We are trying to use the existing manually operated lead screw mounting pivot points. The minimum retracted length is 2.0" C to C, and the effective stroke requirement from there is 8". We can effect the C to C shortened to 2" from 3+ by use of an offset adapter. 200 lb Screw Actuator Require full 8" stroke Alternate Nut for Trunnion Mount - Reversed Gearbox mounting dia 3/8" Std Type A Adjustable stop on the "Extended" end of stroke only 12VDC Motor , 3000 RPM, 40:1 reduction Low temperature lubrication to operate to -32'C I would appreciate your feedback on the viability and price/performance match, and if the options selected are suitable mix. After prototyping and beta production, C-COM would be specifying these for production runs initially utilizing 100 -200 actuator units. We expect this could grow substantially from there.
